A Conversation with His Beatitude Sviatoslav
Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church
I made it.
The tip of the spiritual sword in the West. This is a raging battle, one I knew very, very little … no, I knew nothing about.
My goal was to start at the border with nothing. To travel across the country and live off of faith alone. Well, I haven’t spent a dime. I knew nobody here, knew nothing about this place.
In one week, I began at a funeral and have since met the most spectacular, inspiring, and giving people. And yes, the threat here is constant - but so is the kindness, and that’s something artillery can’t demolish.
So, today … I travelled seven hours by train to Kyiv for one reason and had no clue how it would go down. None.
Well, it couldn’t have been more aligned.
Thank you to the Patriarch, His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk, the spiritual leader of the Ukrainian Catholic Church and a key figure in protecting people's rights, religions, and those marginalized by these many terrors of war.
I was welcomed into a private liturgy he gave for The Sisters of The Holy Family (these ladies are the best!), He agreed to meet with me in a private interview, and then I was invited to lunch. I have so much gratitude, plus the Sisters put out a spread that was an easy five-star.
He is a leader of faith through and through; so friendly, generous, and extremely humble. A spiritual father this country can look to for Hope.
I will be releasing the full interview in due time, but I just want to share my gratitude with everyone who pulled through for me when the call came, and made this happen, dyakuyu.
Now to head west …
